Life is hard at different levels and times, for different reasons and seasons. We are shaped by ideologies, systems, and histories, from our families, relationships, institutions, society and cultural environments that influence how we move through the world. These forces impact our sense of safety, identity, connection, and well-being in ways both seen and unseen. While our paths are unique, we all seek purpose, meaning, belonging, and understanding.

A depth psychological approach pays attention to what exists beneath conscious awareness, including relational patterns, emotional wounds, dreams, symbolism, identity, attachment, and the search for meaning. Depression and anxiety are approached as experiences that may reflect unresolved pain, internal conflict, disconnection, chronic stress, or parts of the self that need attention and care. Through the psyche’s alchemical process of transformation, these can become catalysts for insight, integration, and growth. In this space, your whole self is welcomed and encouraged, your lived experience is centered, and I would be honored to witness and walk alongside you on your journey toward authenticity.

About Me

FOUNDER · HERBALIST · THERAPIST

Hello, I’m Tessa (she/her). I received my graduate degree in Counseling-Clinical Mental Health from Regis University, along with a certificate in Depth Psychology, and love to bring a deeper spiritual and existential lens to work with clients, when appropriate, along with a very person-centered and trauma-informed approach. I hold a Bachelors in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from Naropa University, and Masters in Social Justice and Ethics from Iliff School of Theology, weaving in restorative and transformative practices, and using a multicultural approach and systems lens.

Guided by a strong vocation for service, I have taught preschool, ran afterschool and mentorship programs for youth of all ages, co-founded a local food cooperative, facilitated restorative practice circles and workshops, and worked with youth and families in the system. I live with an autoimmune disorder, and have been a lay herbalist for over 20 years. During the pandemic I formulated my signature herbal honeys, and Mountain Soul Medicine meets at the intersections of mental health, restorative/transformative practice, herbal medicine, and spiritual integration. I have two adult children, whom I raised primarily as a single mom, am a survivor of domestic violence, and am currently engaged in Jungian analysis, with intention of doing the analyst training. I am passionate about witnessing and supporting anyone seeking to discover and become their most authentic self.
